PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 28 May 2026
Our commitment to you
You trust us with your personal information, so we aim to always be clear and honest about how and why we use it. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
Ready, Set, Ride! is operated by Carnival Amusements (Marinovich Family Trust, ABN 93 409 823 690) (“we”, “us”, “our”). We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If we ever make a major change to our privacy practices, we’ll update this policy and, where required, let you know.
How this policy applies to you
How this policy applies depends on how you interact with us. For example, if you:
• Buy a ticket from us, we use the information you provide to process your order, manage your entry, and — where you’ve agreed — keep you up to date about future events.
• Subscribe to our emails, we use your details to send you news, ticket releases and offers, which you can opt out of at any time.
• Browse our website, we may use cookies and similar tools to help the site work and improve your experience.
• Attend the event, we may collect limited information for safety, accessibility and operational purposes.
Summary
Here’s the short version — each point is explained in full further down:
• What we collect & where we get it. We collect details when you buy tickets, subscribe to our emails, contact us, request accessibility support, or attend the event.
• How we use it & why. To fulfil your booking, run a safe event, provide support, send marketing you’ve opted into, and meet our legal obligations.
• Who we share it with & why. With our ticketing provider, payment processors, the venue, safety contractors, and authorities where required.
• Your choices & rights. You can opt out of marketing, and request access to or correction of your information.
• Looking after your information. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure and only keep it as long as we need it.
What information we have and where we get it
We collect different types of information depending on how you deal with us. Wherever practicable we collect it directly from you, though we may also receive it from our ticketing provider, the venue, or our service providers.
• When you buy tickets. When you purchase a wristband, family pass, spectator entry or add-on through our ticketing provider (Megatix), we collect your contact and billing details — such as your name, email, phone number and payment information — along with your session booking and order history.
• When you subscribe to our emails. If you join our electronic direct mail (EDM) list, we collect your contact details and marketing preferences.
• When you contact us. If you get in touch with a query or feedback, we keep a record of that interaction so we can help you and improve our service.
• When you request accessibility support. If you request a Sensory-Friendly Session or present a Companion Card at the box office, we collect only the information needed to provide that accommodation. Some of this may be sensitive information, which we handle with extra care and only with your consent or as permitted by law.
• When you use our website. We may use cookies and similar tools to collect technical information such as your device, browser, IP address and how you use our site.
• For safety and event operations. During the event we may record limited information for safety reasons - for example, under our lost/found child procedures, first aid records, or incident reports. The venue may also operate CCTV for security.
• Photography and video. We, or people authorised by us, may take photos and video at the event for promotional purposes (see “Your choices and rights” below).
How we use your information and why
Some uses are necessary for us to provide our services or meet our legal obligations. Others are subject to your choices.
To provide our services to you
• Processing and fulfilling your ticket and add-on orders;
• Managing entry, session bookings and wristband collection;
• Sending you booking confirmations and important event information;
• Providing the accessibility accommodations you’ve requested; and
• Responding to your enquiries and providing customer support.
Subject to your choices
• Marketing. Where you’ve subscribed, we contact you about upcoming events, ticket releases and offers. You can opt out at any time.
• Improving our events. We may use feedback and general insights to improve future events and our website.
For safety, security and legal reasons
• To protect the safety of patrons and staff, including our child-safety and first-aid procedures;
• To maintain the security of the event and prevent fraud or unlawful behaviour; and
• To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
A note on our operational communications
During the event, our staff use two-way radios and a dedicated internal messaging group to coordinate safety matters. This may include temporarily recording limited details (for example, a description of a lost child) solely to resolve the situation. In line with our procedures, we never publicly announce the name of a lost or missing child, and these records are kept only as long as necessary.
Children’s information
Ready, Set, Ride! is a family event for children aged 3 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information directly from children for marketing. Where we do collect information about a child - for example, under our lost/found child or first aid procedures - it is used only for that child’s safety and wellbeing. Bookings should be made by a parent or guardian.
Who we share your information with and why
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
• Our ticketing provider (Megatix), to process your bookings and payments.
• Payment processors and financial institutions, to complete your transactions securely.
• The venue (PCEC) and our service providers, such as first aid, security and electrical contractors, where needed to deliver and run a safe event.
• Emergency services and authorities, where required - for example, in a medical incident, under our lost/missing child procedures, or where required by law.
• Government or regulatory bodies, where we are required or authorised to do so.
Where we engage third parties, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with this policy and the Australian Privacy Principles. If any of our providers store information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected. If we ever need to share information for a reason not described here, we’ll let you know beforehand where practicable.
Your choices and rights
Your choices
• Marketing. To stop receiving our marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any message or contact us and we’ll action it for you.
• Cookies. You can control cookies and tracking tools through your browser settings.
• Photography. If you’d prefer not to be photographed or filmed, let a staff member know at the event, or contact us afterwards and we’ll avoid using identifiable footage of you in our marketing where reasonably practicable.
Your rights
Under Australian privacy law you have the right to:
• Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete; and
• Withdraw your consent where we have relied on it (for example, for accessibility information).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe. In limited circumstances we may decline a request as permitted by law, and if so we’ll explain why.
Looking after your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The measures we use depend on the type of information involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, we keep certain transaction records for tax and accounting purposes). When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
Our website may contain links to other sites we don’t control. This policy doesn’t apply to them, so we encourage you to read their privacy policies too.
